Selfless Photography
What if the act of photography could be completely selfless?
Not selfless in the sense of being generous or altruistic, but selfless in a more fundamental way - where there isn't a separate "photographer" trying to capture or create something, but rather moments of reality naturally expressing themselves through the lens.
Most of us are familiar with the "selfie" - perhaps the ultimate expression of photography as an act of self-reinforcement. But what happens when we turn the camera outward without any agenda, when we allow images to emerge spontaneously rather than hunting for the perfect shot?
This project explores photography as a practice of pure presence. It's an invitation to discover what emerges when we step out of our own way and allow the camera to become less an instrument of capture and more a mirror of what already is.
There's no destination here, no final theory to prove. Instead, this is an open exploration - a journey into seeing differently. Along the way, we might discover something about the nature of seeing itself, about our relationship with the ordinary moments that make up our lives, and about what photography can be when we let go of trying to make it anything at all.
I'll be sharing images and reflections as they arise, and I welcome you to join in this exploration. Perhaps together we can discover what happens when photography becomes not something we do, but something that happens through us.
